Abrasive Flap Wheels (With Shank)
Some people also called "sander paper grinding wheel" have an equivalent spaces profile with a shank-boned central that performs best between 0 and 35 degrees. However, effective stock removal with these wheels is achievable at working angles depending on the workpiece's structure.
Abrasive Flap Wheels (Without Shank)
Big size flap wheels have an equivalent spaces like fan with depressed central design, like 200mm diameter, that product is idea for aggressive surface grinding with a big machine.
Miniature Flap Wheel (Without Shank)
Another type is miniature flap wheel with boned central and screw hole, need apply screw shank joint with die grinder. That is aggressive at round shapes work pieces and increases access to tight small difficult to reach spaces. Raw Material Types
Flap Wheels are mixed combinations of different types of abrasives which leads to different performance results. The abrasives cloth can be made by Aluminum Oxide (AO), Silicon carbide (SIC)， Zirconia(Z), Ceramic and AO combine, etc, can make the type as Non-woven abrasives, abrasive cloths， sander papers, supper abrasives, boned polishing stones, boned grinding heads, felt material made with wool, etc. The abrasive does the work and grinds metal when it makes contact with metal, non-ferrous, glass, wood, leather, plastic, painting surfaces, while the joint holds the abrasive materials in place and helps the abrasive tools keep their shape. Abrasives have the characteristics of strength, sharpness, and hardness. Choosing a flap wheel with the right composition for the application and material will ensure consistent results and continuous efficiency.
The joint grinder also plays an elemental role in the choice of flap wheel. Flap wheels come in different exterior diameters, heights, shank diameters (or central diameters) made to accommodate different size grinders. That is about the inner diameter, abrasive tools attach to angle grinders, die grinders on a spindle, known as an arbor. Arbor size would vary (e.g. 3.175mm, 3/8”, 6mm, 6.35mm, 8mm, 10mm) and an exact match for the wheel ensures a secure fit.
